Course outline

This two-part course introduces a structure for sensory topic planning. Then, based on a theme, we share a process that covers the critical issues in topic planning for literacy, numeracy, and the broader curriculum.

Two practical sessions cover the why, the where and the how of appropriate and effective resource selection and curation, identifying effective ways to use these in your classroom.

We look at how other environments outside the classroom can offer pupils different perspectives or experiences linked to a topic.

A reflective practice interim task allows delegates to think further about the ideas and suggestions raised in session 1.

Both sessions will create a ‘topic box’ of ideas for activities, appropriate resources and ideas to take away and use in your setting.

Suitable for ECT new to the profession and those who would like a refresher and easy access to new ideas, the sessions are informative, practical and fun.
